Renewal exams extend your certification for two years. You must take the exam before your certification expires.
Renewal exams have fewer questions, cost less, and are available for many applications (they are not standalone certifications). If you let your certification expire, then you have to take the full exam to renew your certification. Generally, certifications expire after two years to ensure candidates stay current with new product capabilities.
To find out which exam will renew your certification, sign in to Adobe CertMetrics Credential Manager, select the Certifications tab and select the certification name. Take the exam listed under Requirement to stay current to renew your certification.
